About me

The story so far
I'm Carmen Virginia Zavarce, a graphic designer and creative lead with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from Universidad Rafael Belloso Chacín in Maracaibo, Venezuela.
Throughout more than 18 years of experience, I've had the opportunity to work in Venezuela, Costa Rica and the United States, creating visual solutions across branding, editorial design, digital communication, print and physical environments. My work brings together creative thinking, thoughtful design and the practical knowledge needed to carry ideas from concept to execution.
Earlier in my career, I founded and led KEP Magazine, a specialized graphic design publication in Venezuela. Today, I remain active in the design community as a member of the AIGA Dallas Board and Chair of The Deck, an annual collaborative initiative that brings together more than 50 designers.
I also serve as a juror for the Davey Awards through the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, reviewing creative work from studios and agencies. Alongside my design career, I'm the founder and owner of PicExpress, a photo booth experience company I launched in Costa Rica and later expanded to the United States.
I bring curiosity, ownership and practical problem-solving to every project, making sure the concept stays strong from the first idea through final execution.
See the brand, the audience and the real-world context—not just the deliverable.
Make every visual decision earn its place and support the larger idea.
Protect the concept from the first sketch to the final produced piece.
